Job summary

Henderson Engineers, Inc. seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer for Mission Critical/Data Center projects in the United States.

You will guide complex electrical engineering efforts, lead teams, and ensure design quality from concept through completion. This role demands advanced technical leadership, coordination across disciplines, and active participation in business development. We expect 12+ years of experience, a PE license (preferred/required for EOR), and proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (electrical, mechanical, fire protection, or architectural).
• 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred, required for EOR's.
• Additional technical certifications (e.g., RCDD, NICET, CPD, LEED, WELL) highly preferred.
• Advanced to expert proficiency in electrical engineering design, applicable codes and standards, Revit, Bluebeam, and construction processes.
• MEP/Construction Industry experience.
• High technical aptitude: ability to learn, understand and utilize various systems and processes.
• Clear communication and willingness to ask questions.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design from concept through completion for complex or large-scale projects.
• Direct or oversee the preparation of design documents, system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Develop solutions to advanced and highly complex engineering problems, providing discipline-wide technical guidance.
• Serve as a mentor and coach across teams and practices, including supervising less experienced designers and engineers.
• Participate in or lead staffing recommendations, training initiatives, and technical strategy development.
• Provide quality oversight, including conducting and/or issuing final quality reviews to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
• Communicate with clients, resolve conflicts, and provide leadership in responding to technical questions or design challenges.
• Lead or support strategic business development efforts and maintain key client and partner relationships.
• Serve as Engineer of Record when assigned, ensuring technical accuracy, accountability, and adherence to professional standards.
