Job summary
Applica in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and execution of large-scale power generation projects, including behind-the-meter systems and microgrids for mission-critical facilities. You will lead electrical design, perform studies, select equipment, and guide projects from engineering through commissioning, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
The role offers hybrid work (3 days onsite, 2 days remote), a competitive salary with bonus and equity
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree or active PE license.
- 8–10+ years in power generation or mission-critical facilities.
- Experience with behind-the-meter generation, islanded systems, or microgrid design.
- Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage distribution and protection systems.
- Experience with gas turbines, reciprocating engines, battery energy storage systems, or similar generation tech.
- Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower.
- Familiarity with data center electrical infrastructure and critical power requirements.
- Strong technical leadership through design, construction, and commissioning.
