Job summary

Schneider Electric in Texas, United States, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer I to join our Central Engineering team. You will design low voltage ETO equipment, create drawings, review customer requirements, and support manufacturing through the full project lifecycle.

The role requires 3–5 years in power distribution and protection schemes, strong knowledge of SEE tools and AutoCAD, and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing and projects. Travel up to 15–20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3–5 years in power distribution, switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers, or related ETO equipment.
• Experience designing electrical control and protection schemes.
• Experience creating, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and schematics.
• Knowledge of power distribution equipment, metering systems, and protection devices.
• Familiarity with Modbus, TCP/IP, Ethernet, RS-485, and other industrial protocols.
• Working knowledge of NEC, UL, NEMA, and applicable industry standards.
• Proficiency with SEE Electrical/SEE XP, AutoCAD, and Schneider Electric engineering tools.
• Experience reviewing customer specifications and translating requirements into engineered solutions.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems, protection schemes, and control solutions for low voltage ETO equipment.
• Develop engineering drawings, one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and BOM.
• Review customer specifications and documents to ensure compliant and cost-effective solutions.
• Conduct order reviews to verify project scope, technical requirements, and design compliance.
• Utilize Schneider Electric engineering tools to create and maintain project documentation.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical designs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, plant engineering, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Provide technical support during production and resolve engineering-related issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for design standardization, cost reduction, and process improvement.
