Job summary

Molecular Devices, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to architect and sustain electrical subsystems for advanced life science instruments in San Jose, CA. Lead hands‑on development from concept to production, focusing on reliable electronics, motion and sensor control, and digital communications.

You will collaborate across systems, mechanical, software, firmware, and quality teams to ensure robust design verification, design reviews, and successful product releases

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience developing electrical components for complex electromechanical products.
• Demonstrated proficiency in mixed-signal circuit design, PCB development, power electronics, and interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN, Ethernet).

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical design of instrument subsystems including analog/digital circuitry and FPGA/CPLD logic.
• Translate requirements into electrical architecture, schematics, PCB designs, and verification plans.
• Build and test prototypes; perform bring‑up, integration, debugging, and design verification.
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, software, firmware, quality, regulatory, and service teams to support releases and resolve field issues.
