Job summary

HDR, in its Building Electrical group, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for complex building projects in the Des Moines area. You will coordinate multi-discipline teams, liaise with clients, and drive project delivery from concept through documentation.

The role requires a PE license and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis, plus 10 years of experience. Preference for a Master’s degree and consulting background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensure board for the position location.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design for buildings (lighting/power/systems) including life safety.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with a multidiscipline team through the project development.
• Establish client relations and participate in design, marketing and production meetings for electrical systems.
• Lead electrical design on multiple projects and mentor junior staff as needed.
• Ensure code compliance through reviews with governing agencies.
