Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for building projects in Dallas, Texas. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across lighting, power, life-safety, and BMS systems to deliver robust, code-compliant designs.

The role requires a PE license and 10+ years of electrical design experience for buildings. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP is essential, and the candidate should embrace HDR's employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
• A minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
• Requires PE or equivalent professional license
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, life safety systems, and building management systems
• Strong computer knowledge of MS Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software
• Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture is expected

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with a multi-discipline team
• Establish client relations and participate in design/production meetings for electrical systems
• Lead electrical aspects on projects
• Participate in code-compliance reviews with agencies
• Conduct schematic, design development and contract document sessions on site with project team
• Coordinate workload to meet project schedules
• Track project finances and adjust work effort per schedule
• Provide guidance to junior staff and mentor others
• Perform other duties as needed
