Job summary

CONVERGIX Automation Solutions in Michigan seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for automation systems. The role requires 5–7 years of hands-on experience in electrical and automation design, drafting, and standards compliance.

You will specify hardware, panels, I/O, cabling, and power distribution while collaborating across disciplines to meet budgets and schedules. It is a full-time, on-site position with periodic travel to client sites in North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in electrical and automation system design, electrical drafting, schematic generation, electrical codes and design calculations.
• Experience with Power distribution, PLCs, HMIs, networks, panel layouts, BOM creation.

Responsibilities

• Project Execution: manage design deliverables and timelines across automation projects.
• Team Collaboration: coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: support prototype validation and resolve design issues.
• Innovation & Exploration: stay current with automation trends and global standards.
• Select and lay out electrical hardware for custom robotic systems, including panels, I/O, cabling and power distribution.
• Collaborate to meet budgets and deadlines.
