Job summary

S&B is seeking an Electrical Engineer to independently perform electrical development and equipment design across project phases. The role requires full competence in conventional electrical engineering and the ability to apply independent judgment for evaluating, selecting and adapting design criteria for moderately complex projects.

The candidate should have a 4-year Electrical Engineering degree, a minimum of seven years in the field, and a Texas PE license (NCEES Record preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to use various computer software packages and automated design equipment.
• Texas licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; NCEES Record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients' technical staff to discuss project information and features.
• Prepare sketches and calculations for project segments.
• Conduct field trips to gather operating data and equipment information.
• Prepare equipment specifications, inquiries and purchase requisitions.
• Evaluate bids and drawings to ensure specification compliance.
• Communicate equipment design to client and other design disciplines.
• Review and approve design drawings for assigned project segments.
• Participate in preparation of design guides and contract proposals.
• Assist in plant start-ups and field assignments as required.
