Merrick & Company in Melbourne, FL is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead all phases of engineering for large, complex projects. This role covers programming through construction administration and requires coordination with multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities include designing electrical systems for government and private clients, providing conceptual and detailed power distribution design (≤600V, ≤15kV), lighting, telecom, fire alarm, and security; plus client

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or architectural engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
Twelve (12) years of experience in facility electrical engineering design.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
Proficient in using REVIT/AutoCAD.
Extensive knowledge of electrical regulatory codes such as NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEE.
Experience using electrical calculation tools such as AGi32, Elum Tools, SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or EasyPower.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel & Word.
Ability to travel as needed.
U.S. Citizenship is required for client projects.

Responsibilities

Design electrical systems for facilities including Government and private clients.
Provide conceptual and detailed design for facility power distribution (≤600V) and site power (≤15kV).
Develop emergency power, grounding, lighting, telecom, fire alarm/mass notification, security, and access control designs.
Prepare supporting calculations, reports, and specifications.
Meet with clients to confirm scope and proposals.
Prepare fee proposals and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
Write and edit specifications and mentor junior staff; manage local team.
