Job summary

Merrick & Company is seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing group. The role offers hybrid work across multiple offices including CO, VA, MD, TN and OK, with relocation considered.

Ideal candidates bring 12+ years in electrical engineering, advanced drawings, and strong knowledge of power distribution and control systems. Responsibilities include leading projects, developing design documents, and coordinating with clients.

Qualifications

Minimum of twelve (12) years of electrical engineering experience in power, energy or industrial process industries.
Experience developing one-line drawings, control schematics and wiring diagrams.
Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC codes and standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
Familiarity with AutoCAD, REVIT or other design software.
ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
PE license required; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

May serve as project lead on a major project and/or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
Develop electrical design documents and drawings.
Analyze and approve the work of others; monitor the work performed by the team.
Conceptual and detailed design of low voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, motor control systems, PLC/PAC, HMI, process equipment and instrumentation.
Interact with clients, customers, officials, contractors and others.
Lead project meetings and make presentations.
Perform typical electrical calculations including voltage drop, short circuit, coordination studies, arc flash, relay settings, conduit fill, lighting and grounding.
Develop specifications and datasheets for electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs.
Travel to client project sites to support field walk downs and as-built efforts.
Monitor allocated resources to ensure that the work performed is within project estimates.
Works with Design/Engineering Managers to ensure that project schedule will be met, and complete documents are provided for each project.
