Job summary

Vanderweil Engineers in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 12+ years of building systems design experience to lead electrical design on complex projects across healthcare, science, academic and commercial sectors.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with architects and mechanical/plumbing teams, and supervise the development of construction documents while ensuring NEC compliance and high-quality deliverables. Hybrid schedule offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
12+ years of electrical building systems design experience.
Revit knowledge is a plus; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design efforts on a variety of complex projects.
Mentor junior engineers and supervise design deliverables.
Coordinate design with internal teams (mechanical, plumbing, sustainability) and external stakeholders (architects, contractors, consultants).
Develop power distribution, lighting, NEC-compliant configurations and calculations.
Prepare specifications, load calculations, one-lines, and diagrams for construction documents.
Participate in client meetings to review drawings and progress.
