Job summary

Vanderweil Engineers in Newark, NJ is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a hybrid team working on large-scale building projects. You’ll develop project documents, coordinate with design professionals, and contribute to power distribution, lighting, and emergency systems in line with NEC codes.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, and familiarity with BIM workflows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Revit knowledge is a plus.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination workflows and tools like Autodesk Construction Cloud and Navisworks.
• Organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a project team to develop project documents for large-scale, complex building projects.
• Coordinate with Architects, Mechanical, Plumbing and Structural engineers to ensure electrical systems are integrated with project goals.
• Serve as design engineer on projects from schematic design to construction across various building types.
• Be familiar with codes and standards applicable to the project.
• Design power distribution, lighting, and emergency/standby power in accordance with NEC.
