Job summary

AECOM seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead and develop teams in delivering electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes, across Illinois with hybrid work flexibility in Chicago or Detroit.

The role requires a B.S. in Electrical/Architectural Engineering, a PE license, and US citizenship; a valid driver's license with MVR check is required. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and six years of related design experience or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• US Citizenship required and valid driver’s license with MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and pride in your work.
• Serve as Discipline Leader for Illinois team and lead design efforts.
• Complete electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes.
• Plan design work, costs, and schedules; assign duties to junior staff.
• Coordinate design with architecture, structure, MEP, and BIM software teams.
• Maintain project documentation and design data for files.
• Represent organization; participate in client meetings and proposals.
• Identify prospective clients and assist in marketing and project development.
• Perform quality checks and ensure adherence to NEC, IECC, NFPA codes.
• Switch between multiple projects daily and collaborate across disciplines.
