Job summary

Actalent, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a civil engineering firm in Chicago, IL. This role focuses on leading MEP projects, mentoring staff, and managing scope, budget, and schedules in a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of post-grad experience, a B.S. in Electrical/Architectural Engineering, and proficiency in Revit and SKM/AGI-32. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• Illinois PE is highly preferred, open to EIT.
• 5+ years of post-graduate experience.
• Electrical Engineering experience for building projects.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Familiarity with SKM PowerTools, AGI-32 (or other lighting design softwares), MS Office.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or other ERP systems is desirable.
• Ability to travel to client or project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and project management for MEP engineering projects.
• Assign project tasks and provide guidance and mentoring to other staff.
• Lead or assist with the development of project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Negotiate fees and contract amendments as necessary.
• Collaborate with in-house engineering teams on projects requiring MEP design services.
• Assist the Area Manager with billing, project performance monitoring, workload forecasting, and staff utilization.
• Collaborate on project pursuits and develop relationships with clients and prospects.
