Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and industrialize electrical systems for heavy-duty transit buses. You will own BOMs, perform design trades, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering disciplines to optimize vehicle functionality.

Responsibilities include ECAD releases, harness integration, and validation planning, with emphasis on manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and field support throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering; Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 5 years progressive engineering experience.
• Experience in automotive/heavy-duty vehicle design.
• Fluent with BOM control and modular BOM management.
• Knowledge of harness design and CAD (Zuken/Capital).
• Experience with harnessing, CANbus, antenna systems, and radio systems.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and modular BOM structures.
• Gather supplier/component information to optimize designs.
• Analyze designs for power, grounding, EMC, signal integrity, and thermal management.
• Perform design trade-offs to ensure manufacturability and reliability.
• Use ECAD tools to create and release components and harnesses.
• Support full lifecycle from design to production launch and field support.
