Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Houston to lead design of electrical systems for healthcare and related facilities. You will mentor junior staff, manage client relationships, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality projects.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of building electrical design experience, strong communication and presentation skills, and proficiency with Revit MEP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, architectural, building services engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings.
• Ability to prioritize effectively in a constantly evolving environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based work.
• Presentation skills with colleagues and clients at all levels.
• Experience with 3D BIM software – Revit MEP.

Responsibilities

• Design/lead medium to large-scale complex projects (healthcare and mission-critical focus).
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Work directly with clients and manage key relationships.
• Design electrical systems for healthcare building projects, including power, lighting, and fire alarm.
• Perform calculations for lighting systems and controls.
• Prepare and review drawings and specifications.
• Review RFIs and submittals from site; carry out construction administration.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and deliver quality work within metrics.
• Produce drawings, specifications and reports for internal and external use.
• Present technical material to technical and non-technical audiences.
