Arup in Houston is seeking an Associate, Mechanical Engineering Lead to spearhead multi-disciplinary design projects within our Healthcare team. You will manage design delivery, coordinate with disciplines, mentor staff, and ensure quality standards while building strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate holds a US PE license, has 12+ years of HVAC system design experience for healthcare facilities, and can lead large-scale projects across teams. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• US Professional Engineer license is required.
• 12+ years of professional experience designing building HVAC systems, with healthcare project focus.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and managing client relationships.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, LEED, NFPA codes.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Manager and Mechanical Lead to deliver integrated design deliverables for healthcare projects.
• Lead the Houston mechanical team and mentor staff; hire mid-level staff as part of a regional network.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines; ensure quality standards, commercial metrics and client relations.
• Oversee proposals and bid submissions; negotiate contracts, terms and conditions.
