Job summary

Nexamp is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Clean Energy Deployment team. You will review solar & storage project designs, provide technical expertise in the interconnection, construction, and commissioning of DERs, and support grid integration efforts.

You will collaborate across our hub offices (Chicago, Boston, DC, NY) with hybrid work options and report to the Director, Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and EIT certification.
• PV project experience and utility-scale design knowledge are required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, or AmpCalc for modeling and protection.
• Strong understanding of NEC, IBC, IFC and grid-interconnection processes.

Responsibilities

• Review shop drawings for switchgear, transformers, and major electrical equipment.
• Model power systems in ETAP/AmpCalc to coordinate protection and fault ratings.
• Manage 3rd party studies and equipment coordination for grid interconnection.
• Provide technical support during commissioning and for life-cycle project phases.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure code-compliant designs.
