Job summary

Nexamp seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Clean Energy Deployment team in Chicago. This role involves reviewing solar and storage project designs, providing technical expertise in interconnection and construction, and assisting in the commissioning of distributed energy resources.

The ideal candidate has over 6 years of electrical engineering experience, a bachelor's degree, and proficiency in AutoCAD and advanced electrical modeling. The position supports hybrid work, alongside a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 6+ years electrical engineering experience, including 2+ years PV experience.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain.
• Demonstrates command of engineering fundamentals and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Specify and review equipment shop drawings.
• Perform advanced electrical modeling in ETAP and AmpCalc.
• Manage scope of work for third-party electrical engineers.
• Support Grid Integration and Project Engineering teams.
• Provide technical support to commissioning.
• Manage new product research and implementation initiatives.

Skills

Electrical engineering experience

PV experience

AutoCAD proficiency

ETAP, SKM, or AmpCalc modeling experience

Knowledge of NEC, IBC, IFC codes

Analytical problem-solving

Education
