Job summary

DDS Engineering & Surveying, LLP (DDSE) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for gas distribution and RNG/LNG facilities. You will review EI&C deliverables, provide electrical judgment, and act as client-facing SME across multidisciplinary projects.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, with responsibility for electrical quality, calculations, and practical design decisions, while supporting drawing development in AutoCAD as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Active Professional Engineer license required; licensure in any U.S. state is acceptable.
• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in utility, industrial, energy, process, or related electrical engineering roles.
• Experience leading technical review and quality oversight of electrical deliverables.
• Strong experience with electrical system design for utility or industrial facilities, including power distribution, panel schedules, one-lines, grounding, hazardous area considerations, and field-integrated design packages.
• Ability to produce and review electrical calculations and apply sound engineering judgment to real project conditions.
• Strong verbal communication skills for client-facing discussions and multidisciplinary coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead PE review and technical oversight of electrical, instrumentation, and controls deliverables for gas distribution facilities, regulator and gate stations, M&R facilities, and RNG/LNG projects.
• Serve as DDS’s electrical SME on client-facing calls, design reviews, and coordination meetings.
• Provide technical direction for drawings and plans, including one-lines, panel schedules, and grounding plans.
• Prepare and review electrical calculations and analyses such as load calculations and short-circuit studies.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and project management staff.
• Support field walks, construction support, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Mentor junior staff and promote design quality practices.
• Contribute to AutoCAD-based drawing production when senior judgment is needed.
