Job summary

DDS Engineering & Surveying, LLP (DDSE) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to act as the electrical technical lead for gas distribution and RNG/LNG projects. You will guide PE reviews, provide electrical judgment, and oversee design across multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, QA of electrical deliverables, and collaboration with project management to move designs toward construction. A PE license and 10+ years of relevant experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Active Professional Engineer license required.
• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in utility, industrial, energy, process, or related facility electrical engineering roles.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical review and quality oversight of electrical deliverables.
• Strong experience with electrical system design for utility or industrial facilities, including power distribution, panel schedules, one-lines, grounding, hazardous area considerations, and field-integrated design packages.
• Ability to produce and review electrical calculations and apply sound engineering judgment to real project conditions.
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to represent DDS effectively in client-facing discussions and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Working knowledge of NEC NFPA 70 and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead PE review and technical oversight of electrical, instrumentation, and controls deliverables for gas distribution facilities, regulator and gate stations, M&R facilities, and RNG/LNG energy projects.
• Serve as DDS’s electrical SME on client-facing calls, design reviews, and coordination meetings, guiding scope, design decisions, and risk.
• Provide direction for electrical packages including single-lines, panel schedules, conduit diagrams, grounding plans, and electrical documentation.
• Prepare and review electrical calculations and engineering analyses such as load calculations, voltage drop, short circuit, and equipment sizing.
• Support design development with practical electrical judgment for power distribution and hazardous area applications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and project management to move design to construction.
• Assist with occasional cathodic protection-related power coordination as needed.
• Participate in field verification, construction support, and issue resolution.
• Mentor junior staff and promote quality practices within the electrical team.
• Support development of drawings and plan packages using AutoCAD as needed.
