Rimkus in San Francisco, CA, seeks an experienced electrical engineer for forensic consulting to determine causes of failures for insurance and legal matters. You will manage multiple projects, prepare detailed reports, and testify when needed, collaborating with clients and experts to deliver precise findings.

A BS in Electrical Engineering is required, along with a PE license and 2–10 years of experience.

Qualifications

• BS Electrical Engineering is required.
• P.E. License is required.
• 2-10 years of experience.
• Project Management and/or Field Investigation preferred.
• Other licenses or certifications may be required depending on location.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical engineering investigations within a defined scope and budget.
• Prepares oral and written reports documenting causes of failure, loss, remediation, and provides opinions for litigation.
• Manages multiple projects and coordinates with other experts to produce client reports.
• Ensures procedures are followed and safety features are checked during work.
• Uses various equations, applications, and testing/evaluation tools for analysis and drafting.
• Gathers evidence, conducts on-site investigations, and reviews historical documentation.
