Job summary

Shell is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Electrical Technology Engineer) for our Geismar site. You will serve as the senior technical authority on electrical systems, guiding production, maintenance, and projects while ensuring compliance with standards and reliable operation of site assets.

You will lead complex electrical issue resolution, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement in electrical design, operation, and reliability across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; PE licensure is a plus.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering for industrial/chemical environments.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, protection schemes, motors, and hazardous area requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for medium- and high-voltage power distribution systems, substations, MCCs, VFDs, protective relaying, and reliability studies.
• Act as technical authority for electrical system design, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Lead or support root cause analyses for significant electrical incidents.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and Shell standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide maintenance and projects teams.
