Job summary

Madsen Associates seeks a mid-to-senior level Professional Engineer to conduct field investigations and failure/accident analyses of electrical and mechanical systems across diverse facilities. The role requires a TX-licensed PE and ABET‑accredited Electrical Engineering degree, with at least 10 years of relevant experience.

You will document as-built conditions, evaluate designs, and support fire origin analyses. Travel and client liaison are essential aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 10 years electrical engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas (NCEES).
• Knowledge of ICC, NEC, NFPA codes and electrical practices.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Field experience and litigation support desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform field investigations and document as-built conditions.
• Conduct failure/accident analyses for electrical/mechanical systems.
• Evaluate design drawings and documentation for repair scope and origin analysis.
• Provide electrical support for fire origin and cause investigations.
• Communicate with clients, code officials, and contractors; prepare reports.
• Manage multiple projects, delivering on time and within budget.
• Develop and retain client relationships; travel as needed.
