Job summary

Madsen Associates seeks a mid-to-senior Professional Engineer to conduct field investigations and perform failure/accident analyses of electrical and mechanical systems across commercial, industrial, municipal facilities.

The candidate will leverage ABET-accredited EE education, a California PE license, and 10+ years of experience to evaluate designs, prepare reports, support expert testimony, and manage multiple projects with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
• CA Professional Engineer license required; other states a plus.
• Minimum 10 years electrical engineering experience.
• Knowledge of ICC, NEC, NFPA and related codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication; litigation support a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations to document conditions and damages.
• Perform failure/accident analyses for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Evaluate design drawings and documentation; propose repair scopes.
• Provide electrical support for fire origin and cause investigations; present reports.
• Communicate with clients and code officials; manage client relationships.
• Manage multiple projects; ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Willing to travel on short notice as needed; support expert testimony if required.
