Job summary

hireneXus in Itasca, IL seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and engineer industrial electrical enclosures from concept through customer approval. This is the first dedicated electrical engineering hire for the department, with room to grow the team as the business scales.

You will own drawings, BOMs, and release documentation, coordinate with sales and manufacturing, and ensure on-time delivery while upholding safety and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of electrical engineer experience in construction/industrial settings
• Experience with panel scheduling, feeder calculations, and one-line diagrams
• Ability to take design from concept to customer approval with BOMs and release docs
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers, sales, and engineers
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or SolidWorks; ability to read blueprints and schematics

Responsibilities

• Develop one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and drawing packages for enclosures
• Complete feeder calculations and specify wiring and accessories
• Own projects end-to-end against milestones and schedules
• Participate in design reviews with customers and secure approvals
• Liaise between engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and sales
• Release drawings, BOMs, and docs to meet production timelines
• Suggest design/process improvements as the department grows
