Job summary

Heron Power Inc. seeks an Industrial Enclosures Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver high-volume shipping-container-sized enclosures for power converters as part of a compact, multidisciplinary team.

You will own designs from concept through production, performing CAD work, analysis, prototyping, testing, and hands-on assembly with cross-disciplinary collaboration including mechanical, electrical, test, and manufacturing engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar.
• 5+ years designing outdoor-rated industrial enclosures for electromechanical parts or assemblies.
• 5+ years of full-time industry experience with 3D CAD (CATIA V6/3DX preferred).
• Strong engineering fundamentals including a basic understanding of electronics.

Responsibilities

• Design mass-manufacturable parts and assemblies for large industrial enclosures and related components.
• Own parts and assemblies from initial concept to high-volume production.
• Design with a first-principles approach, optimizing parts via structural and tolerance analysis.
• Create 3D designs and 2D drawings using CATIA V6/3DX.
• Perform hands-on prototyping and testing.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and reliability teams, plus external partners.
