Job summary

Neuron Industries (YC S26) seeks an electrical generalist to own Cortex hardware, from concept through production. You’ll define system-level architecture, verify interfaces, and drive design decisions with firmware and software teams.

You will design schematics, select components, and push boards from bring-up to production, establishing practical hardware standards for a small team delivering reliable hardware quickly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Electronics Engineering or closely related field.
• Experience taking electronics from concept to production and ability to explain architecture and changes.
• System-level decisions across digital processing, analog interfaces, communications, and power.
• Strong signal integrity and power integrity fundamentals.
• Board debugging with oscilloscopes and rework tools; support firmware bring-up.
• Proficiency in Altium Designer.
• Root-cause analysis of manufacturing or field failures to improve designs.
• Ability to prioritize with incomplete requirements and explain tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Architect boards and interfaces across embedded compute and power.
• Design schematics and manage PCB layouts in Altium Designer.
• Bring up hardware and debug across hardware and firmware boundaries.
• Validate designs against EMC, thermal, vibration, surges, and miswiring.
• Own manufacturing handoff, DFx reviews, test strategy, and production improvements.
• Establish design reviews and release documentation for a small team.
