Job summary

Neuron Industries (YC S26) in Gardena, CA is seeking a backend/cloud engineer to architect scalable systems connecting Cortex controllers to Synapse, our industrial development environment. You will design APIs, device connectivity, telemetry pipelines, and storage, while delivering frontend features in TypeScript/React to enable deployment, monitoring, and debugging of machine data.

You will work directly with founders and the embedded team to own software from design through deployment,

Qualifications

Production backend services experience with ownership and operability.
Ability to explain contributions to distributed systems and API design.
Strong fundamentals in networking, databases, concurrency, and reliability.
Experience in automated testing, instrumentation, and observability.

Responsibilities

Architect backend services and cloud systems for controller connectivity, application state, and industrial data.
Develop reliable APIs, data models, and service boundaries to support growth.
Build telemetry ingestion, storage, and querying with clear decisions on throughput and latency.
Own production reliability and observability; investigate incidents and remove bottlenecks.
Deliver TypeScript/React features in Synapse for deployment, monitoring, and debugging machine data.
Ship tested software through CI/CD with clear rollout and rollback paths.
Collaborate with customers and embedded engineers to turn real workflows into platform capabilities.
