Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Power Tools Team. The role focuses on embedded firmware in C/C++, electrical hardware design for surgical power tools, batteries, and motor controllers, with collaboration across multiple disciplines. The position will be based in Palm Beach Gardens, Raynham, or Boston.

The candidate will lead design from concept through verification, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance for medical devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Eight+ years of embedded hardware and firmware development experience.
• Strong experience with SPI, I2C, UART, LIN, CAN.
• Proven ability to design and debug electronics and embedded controls for motor systems.
• Experience delivering regulated medical-device firmware development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical hardware for surgical power tools and battery systems.
• Translate requirements into electrical architectures, schematics, PCB layouts, and verification plans.
• Develop low-level firmware for motor control, battery management, sensing, and protection features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant product development.
