Job summary

DoorDash Labs seeks a Senior/Staff electrical and firmware engineer to own the board design and firmware for connected devices, including tablets, POS, peripherals, and robotics applications. You will drive system architecture from concept to field deployment on a build‑heavy, small, senior team.

The role requires deep expertise in electrical hardware and embedded firmware, with hands‑on experience spanning design, bring‑up, testing, and production handoff across multiple concurrent programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of hands‑on product development across electrical hardware and embedded firmware.
• Experience taking hardware from concept to production and scaling designs.
• Designed a board and written its production firmware for the same product.

Responsibilities

• Translate needs into integrated electrical and firmware architecture.
• Design compute‑based, mixed‑signal boards with processors, power, sensors, and wireless.
• Develop embedded firmware using bare metal, FreeRTOS, Linux, or Android.
• Lead board bring‑up, validation, and troubleshooting with lab tools.
• Prototype new sensors and validate reliable signals from tests.
