Job summary

DoorDash Labs seeks an hands-on Electrical Engineer to review electrical designs and deliver robust hardware for a 4-wheeled autonomous delivery robot. You will handle high-speed digital design, PCBA development, RF integration, cabling, and board-level packaging, collaborating with mechanical and firmware teams.

This deeply technical role requires system-level thinking and detailed circuit execution, with opportunities to influence design standards and production readiness.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–7+ years designing complex embedded hardware systems.
• Expertise in high-speed digital design, multi-layer PCBs, and signal integrity.
• Experience with RF integration and antenna considerations.
• Experience with EMI/EMC and production-ready hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical systems for a complex mobile robotic platform from concept through production.
• Lead high-speed digital design (PCIe, MIPI, Ethernet, DDR, SERDES).
• Own PCBA development: schematic capture, layout, impedance control, and DFx.
• Drive RF integration (Wi‑Fi, LTE/5G, GNSS, Bluetooth, RADAR, LiDAR) and antenna layout.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering on packaging, thermal, vibration, and sealing.
• Define power distribution, battery interfaces, protection circuits, and monitoring.
• Ensure EMI/EMC and regulatory compliance (FCC/CE).
• Support prototype bring-up, debugging, root-cause analysis, and fixes.
• Establish design standards and lead design reviews across EE team.
• Work with firmware, robotics, systems, manufacturing, and reliability teams.
