Job summary

Purpose Brands LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Firmware to own and maintain our connected fleet of devices and access control systems. You will design and implement C++ firmware for microcontrollers and work across hardware, backend, and QA to ensure reliable fleet operations.

Ideal candidates have embedded experience, strong testing skills, and the ability to thrive in our fast-paced, hybrid environment with offices across US.

Qualifications

• Firmware development for microcontrollers (C/C++)
• Multithreaded applications (mutexes/threads/pthreads)
• Experience writing and integrating automated test cases (GTest, GMock)
• Strong hardware/software integration and debugging capabilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced distributed team environment

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with firmware, backend, QA, and lead engineers on the Edge Engineering team
• Design, write, and maintain C++ firmware for the Access Control System
• Manage integration between hardware and backend systems
• Develop internal tools for fleet management and automated testing
• Write and maintain technical documentation
• Assist hardware teams with test plans and debugging of hardware issues
