Suna Solutions in Torrance, CA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Development & Test to lead hardware development, bring-up and V&V for advanced Pro AV products. This onsite role requires hands-on debugging, test automation, and technical leadership across engineering groups.

You will collaborate with software, firmware, FPGA, mechanical and manufacturing teams to optimize reliability and manufacturing test coverage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years hands-on electronics development, board bring-up, hardware validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of analog, digital and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Experience with lab test equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, DMMs.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets, and docs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; works well cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in hardware development, design reviews, testing, troubleshooting, verification and documentation of new electronic and video system designs.
  • Perform board bring-up including power rail validation, processor initialization, memory verification, and interface testing.
  • Execute design verification and validation activities to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical and hardware issues using lab equipment.
  • Perform root cause analysis on development, production, and field-return failures.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware issues identified during development and manufacturing testing.
  • Support the development and deployment of automated test systems.
  • Debug automated test failures involving hardware, firmware, and test scripts.
  • Develop and maintain test fixtures, validation plans, failure reports, and manufacturing test strategies.
  • Collaborate with software, firmware, FPGA, mechanical, manufacturing, marketing and sales teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to software developers working on automated test scripts.

Senior Electrical Engineer – Development & Test
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite – 5 Days/Week
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Electrical Engineer – Development & Test to support the development, validation, troubleshooting, and production readiness of advanced Pro AV and electronic products.

This role will serve as a technical bridge between electrical engineering, test and validation, and automated test development teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electronics development, board bring-up, hardware debugging, verification/validation, and test automation.

This is a fully onsite, hands-on engineering position that requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple engineering and manufacturing functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in hardware development, design reviews, testing, troubleshooting, verification, and documentation of new electronic and video system designs.
  • Perform board bring-up, including power rail validation, processor initialization, memory verification, and interface testing.
  • Execute design verification and validation (V&V) activities to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical and hardware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Perform root cause analysis on development, production, and field-return failures.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware issues identified during development and manufacturing testing.
  • Support the development, implementation, and deployment of automated test systems.
  • Debug automated test failures involving hardware, test fixtures, firmware, software, and test scripts.
  • Develop and maintain test fixtures, validation plans, failure reports, and manufacturing test strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with software, firmware, FPGA, mechanical, manufacturing, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to software developers working on automated test scripts.
  • Help improve manufacturing test processes, product reliability, and overall test coverage.
  • Document technical findings, troubleshooting procedures, validation results, and corrective actions.
  • Serve as a technical resource and help drive engineering issues through resolution.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics development, board bring-up, hardware validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory test and measurement equipment, including:
  • Logic analyzers
  • Spectrum analyzers
  • Power analyzers
  • Digital multimeters
  • Working knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, and USB.
  • Ability to interpret and troubleshoot schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets, and technical documentation.
  • Strong electrical debugging and root-cause-analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Python scripting and automated test development.
  • Experience with FPGA development, debugging, or troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing manufacturing test processes and Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
  • Experience with embedded systems and board-level validation.
  • Experience supporting production test and manufacturing engineering.
  • Previous experience serving as a technical lead or engineering lead.
  • Experience in medical, networking, video, industrial, communications, or professional AV electronics.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or other quality-regulated environments.
