Job summary

Fresh Consulting is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our design-led software and hardware team in Sunnyvale, CA. The role focuses on system-level electrical measurement, lab debugging, and dis­tribution of duties across technicians and engineers.

On-site expectations include working with high-density boards, SoC, and sensors across USB/MIPI/PCIe interfaces. You will review designs, contribute to NPI and manufacturing validation, and ensure compliance with EMC and safety standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
• Experience with high-density boards and system integration preferred.
• Hands-on lab experience and rapid prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level electrical measurements across power rails and loads.
• Lab debugging with scopes, meters, and analyzers.
• Failure analysis of electrical issues incl. battery and charging.
• Review PCB layouts and schematics; flag errors.
• Approve prototypes and simulation models.
• Write functional specs and test procedures.
• Support NPI and manufacturing validation.
• Direct technicians and other personnel.
• Ensure EMI/EMC and safety standards compliance.
• Deliverables in hardware validation and cross-functional communication.

Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Onsite In Sunnyvale, CA

Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/Week

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level electrical measurements and analysis across power rails, regulators, batteries, charging paths, and load behavior.
• Execute lab debugging and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, power meters, DMMs, logic analyzers, and similar instrumentation.
• Conduct failure analysis of electrical issues including component failures, battery degradation, charging anomalies, and system-level faults.
• Review and evaluate PCB layouts, schematics, and designs - flag errors and suggest improvements.
• Review and approve product prototypes, working models, or simulation-based models.
• Write detailed functional specifications, test procedures, and design tradeoff documentation.
• Support new technology introduction and NPI/manufacturing validation efforts.
• Direct technicians, engineering designers, or other technical support personnel as needed.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards (e.g., EMC) and support certification activities.
• Candidates will be evaluated based on deliverables in hardware validation, prototype builds, documentation quality, and cross-functional communication.

Skills

• Good EE fundamentals.
• High-density rigid/flex board design and system integration experience.
• Hands-on lab skills. Rapid prototyping with what's available. Can-do attitude.
• Ability to drive projects with high ambiguity, multiple paths, and fuzzy future to clarity.
• Understanding of core tech areas such as SoC, sensor, wireless, audio, display, and interfaces (USB, MIPI, PCIe, SPI, I2C). Capable of designing, bringing up, and evaluating projects in those areas.
• Embedded software basics. Comfortable looking into software logs/code.
• Use automation to help the team improve project quality and scale to more projects.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capability, with the ability to influence without authority.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or related engineering field) required.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Range $75/hr - $85/hr.
