Role Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer in the Strategic Defense Solution engineering organization, based in Richardson, TX. Responsible for PCB design, system design and integration, requirements capture, and transition to manufacturing for products such as chassis adapters supporting Ethernet, video, and discrete I/O, embedded processor systems, and user interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards, budgets, and MIL-STD-461 compliance.
- Prepare engineering sketches or specifications for constructing, relocating, or installing equipment, products, or systems.
- Prepare documentation including descriptions or specifications of proprietary hardware or software, product development schedules, product costs, and performance analyses to track progress.
- Perform engineering work, applied research, and design of new products to meet quality standards and business objectives.
- Produce products according to specifications, using the most cost-effective and efficient means.
- Analyze and evaluate new or improved electronic components (PM&P) across diverse domains such as power generation, transmission, distribution, illumination, wire communication systems, servomechanisms, and semiconductor devices.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Typical STEM degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD security clearance.
- Experience designing digital and analog products including microprocessor systems, low-power supplies, and communication subsystems.
- Experience with mixed-signal design (SoC/FPGAs, A/D converters, digital down-converters, D/A converters, waveform generators, mixed-signal CCAs, modules, and subsystems).
- Experience developing test procedures, test fixtures, and EMI/EMC standards for military applications.
- Experience with ALM tools: Jira, Confluence, DOORS, MATLAB, LTspice, and DX.
- Experience interfacing to RF circuitry and high-speed A/D/D/A conversion.
