Job summary

Boyd is seeking an hands-on Electrical Engineer to design electrical and control panels for liquid cooling systems. You will select components, create schematics, and develop control firmware or work with software engineers.

You’ll test, debug, and ensure performance within schedule and budget. You will collaborate with mechanical, refrigeration, and manufacturing teams, developing control strategies, integrating sensors and actuators, and delivering robust HMI interfaces for cooling operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in designing, programming, and maintaining control systems.
3+ years of hands-on PLC programming, HMI development, and sensor network integration.
Experience with communications protocols (RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, SNMP, REST API).

Responsibilities

Develop control system architectures for liquid cooling products.
Design and implement control algorithms for real-time cooling based on sensor data.
Integrate sensors, controllers and actuators for monitoring and control.
Create and update electrical schematics and control diagrams.
Program/configure controllers and develop HMI interfaces for cooling ops.
Commission, test, and validate control systems and ensure reliable performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in design reviews.
Plan, schedule, and budget for data center cooling projects and retrofits.
Maintain documentation for control designs and programming changes.
Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for production cooling systems.
Develop verification test plans and ensure safety/regulatory compliance.
