Job description

We are partnered with a 100% employee-owned MEP engineering and consulting firm known for its collaborative culture, complex technical projects, and emphasis on giving engineers ownership over their work and career development.

They are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing electrical team. You'll lead the design and delivery of complex projects across Science & Technology and Mission Critical markets, including laboratories, life sciences facilities, pharmaceutical and manufacturing environments, telecommunications infrastructure, data centers, and secure government facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer from an MEP or consulting engineering background who wants to lead technically complex projects, develop client relationships, mentor emerging engineers, and have a meaningful influence on the continued growth of the team.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the design of electrical building systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power, grounding, low-voltage, and associated systems.
  • Lead projects through all phases of design and delivery while managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
  • Develop engineering approaches and technical solutions based on client objectives, facility requirements, and project constraints.
  • Design and specify electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, distribution equipment, lighting, and controls.
  • Evaluate existing electrical infrastructure and develop solutions for system upgrades, renovations, and expansions.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and participate in client meetings, design reviews, presentations, and construction progress meetings.
  • Coordinate across mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, architectural, structural, and owner teams.
  • Support construction administration through submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, commissioning coordination, and field reports.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers while supporting technical quality and professional development.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on client development, business growth, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • 8+ years of electrical design experience within an MEP consulting engineering environment.
  • Strong electrical building systems design experience across technically complex facilities.
  • Experience within mission critical, data centers, SCIFs, life sciences, laboratories, healthcare, or similar environments strongly preferred.
  • PE license preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical design/calculation software.
  • Strong understanding of power distribution, emergency power, grounding, lighting, and applicable building and energy codes.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, manage competing priorities, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
What’s on Offer
  • 100% employee-owned company.
  • Exposure to complex Science & Technology and Mission Critical projects.
  • Opportunity to lead projects across laboratories, life sciences, data centers, telecommunications, and secure government facilities.
  • Collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment with opportunities to work across offices and teams.
  • Significant project ownership and direct client-facing responsibility.
  • Opportunity to mentor and develop emerging engineers.
  • Career flexibility with opportunities to develop toward technical leadership, project management, people leadership, or client development.

For an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to take greater ownership of complex projects, mentor the next generation of engineers, and shape their long-term career within an entrepreneurial engineering firm, this is a meaningful opportunity.
