Summit Construction Advisors seeks an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing electrical engineering team within a growing MEP firm. This leadership role blends people management with hands‑on technical execution across lighting, power, fire safety, and security design.

You will mentor engineers, oversee design quality, manage budgets, and nurture client relationships on commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and mission‑critical projects nationwide.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of electrical design experience in a consulting environment.
  • 7+ years leading and coordinating engineering teams.
  • Licensed PE required.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with BIM/Revit coordination and design-build delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and designers.
  • Manage workload, assign projects, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Serve as technical lead for lighting, power distribution, emergency systems, fire alarm, and security design.
  • Ensure code compliance, technical accuracy, and quality across deliverables.
  • Oversee BIM/Revit coordination through all project phases (SD to CD).
  • Support construction administration (site visits, shop drawings, punch lists).
  • Maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Partner with leadership on hiring, onboarding, performance management, and department growth.
  • Keep projects aligned with scope, budget, and contractual commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and designers

  • Serve as technical lead overseeing lighting, power distribution, emergency systems, fire alarm, and security design
  • Ensure code compliance, technical accuracy, and quality across all deliverables

Qualifications

  • Strong commercial project background (aviation, healthcare, higher ed, hospitality, government preferred)
  • Experience with design-build and design-bid-build delivery
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical codes and regulatory requirements
  • Strong client‑facing presence and communication skills
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and manage performance
  • Experience managing budgets and driving value engineering solutions
Compensation and Benefits
  • $175,000-$185,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote)
  • Flexible Time Off
