Position: Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Lenexa, KS

Senior Electrical Engineer

GBA, a professional, full-service architectural and engineering firm, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an Electrical Engineer position in our Life Sciences group in Lenexa, KS. This group specializes in Pharma/Bio-Pharma industry projects, serving top companies as an integrated team of architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, and project managers. At GBA, you’ll work on diverse projects from start to finish in a collaborative environment, with ample opportunities for career growth and development. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing, and supporting the development of future engineering professionals.

Responsibilities:

1. Project management of a multi-discipline team
2. Financial management of project budgets
3. Client, owner, and contractor interface
4. Design of electrical power systems including switchboards, generators, ATSs, and UPSs
5. Power distribution at medium and low voltages
6. Conducting arc flash, coordination, and short circuit studies
7. Performing electrical load calculations
8. Facility evaluations, assessments, engineering studies, and troubleshooting
9. Ensuring project QA/QC
10. Providing oversight and guidance to less experienced staff
11. Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

1. Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer
2. BSc in Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering
3. Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience
4. Familiarity with NEC requirements and other relevant codes and standards
5. Proficiency in Revit (highly desired)
6. Experience with SKM or ETAP is beneficial
7. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
8. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
9. Interest in working collaboratively within a team
10. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
