Senior Electrical Engineer at POWER Engineers

POWER Engineers, a member of WSP, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Government Services Division. This role involves engineering design projects in the government market, including mission-critical infrastructure such as power delivery, generation, distribution, backup power, UPS systems, renewable energy, and MEP design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and issue construction drawings, specifications, studies, and reports.
• Design grounding, lightning protection, surge protection, lighting, protective relaying, generation, switchgear, substations, and UPS systems.
• Apply NEC, NFPA, ICC, UFC, energy codes, and IEEE standards.
• Model electrical systems and perform power system studies using ETAP, PTW, or EasyPower (preferred).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• PE license, eligible for multiple states.
• 15+ years of experience in designing low and medium-voltage power and lighting systems for federal and industrial buildings.
• Experience with switchgear and substation design.
• Ability to lead electrical projects, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to travel.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with NAVFAC and USACE standards.
• Knowledge of CAD and BIM software.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.

Additional Information:

Remote work is possible; travel may be required. The salary range is $80,000 - $180,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health coverage, 401(k), paid leave, and more.
