Sr. Electrical Designer- Remote

Responsibilities

1. Utilize applicable engineering national and local codes.
2. Design duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding, and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches, or vendor data.
3. Report project progression updates and/or issues to the project lead team.
4. Coordinate with the project team using the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Request for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functions.
5. Develop 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills. Check and navigate in the 3D models for interferences and constructability.
6. Route electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule.
7. Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs.
8. Perform calculations to check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirements and size pull boxes.
9. Calculate sizing for pull boxes according to NEC standards.
10. Gather information needed for design development and verify voltage separation requirements are met.
11. Create plan drawings and details for electrical deliverables.
12. Analyze, inspect, and construct designs while adhering to electrical quality standards and department procedures.
13. Check design for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements before submission for checking.
14. Resolve checked drawings; clarify and understand comments made.
15. Complete miscellaneous tasks to support project development.
16. Act as a field resource to assist construction in resolving issues on-site.

Qualifications

1. At least 8 years’ experience in Design and/or Drafting disciplines with a background in electrical design.
2. Experience utilizing 3D programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or SP3D and knowledge of the latest computer operating systems.
3. Must be able to conceptualize in a 3D environment.
4. Ability to work in a growing, adaptive, and multi-discipline team environment.
5. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Remote

Contract with the possibility of going direct.
