Job description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida, USA, with a technical support center in Southeast Asia and East Africa. We provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate specializes in planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services supporting the US Department of Defense (DOD) and other US federal agencies globally.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the conceptual design, review, and stamping/sealing of drawings prior to client submission.

Our salary range for this position, based on market data, is $120k to $135k per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, review, update, modify, and approve electrical design plans and work schedules.
  2. Lead construction inspections, quality control, and submittal reviews beyond the scope of construction managers.
  3. Provide quality assurance for ongoing projects and mentor less experienced engineers.
  4. Support contract management and planning divisions with scope, programming, and scheduling.
  5. Develop cost estimates and schedules; review and analyze designs, plans, and specifications for technical efficiency.
  6. Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications.
  7. Prepare correspondence, technical reports, contract documents, fact sheets, and status reports; prepare final construction drawings for bidding.
  8. Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design, equipment specifications, and safety standards.
  9. Utilize engineering software (AutoCAD, load analysis, coordination studies) for assigned tasks.
  10. Stay current with latest electrical engineering innovations.
  11. Assist with recruitment, training, onboarding, and fostering a safe, positive work environment.
  12. Perform other related responsibilities as appropriate.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Experience with US Government and military projects preferred.
  3. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  4. Excellent communication, analytical, project management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  5. Strong understanding of construction practices, troubleshooting, electrical layout design, inspection, and cost estimation.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit), and electrical systems (power, control, lighting, batteries, fire alarm).
  7. Familiarity with military programming rules is desirable.
  8. Willingness to travel internationally occasionally.
  9. Legal residence in the US and eligibility to work (no visa sponsorship).
  10. Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
