Job description

Denver, CO | High-Performance & Sustainable Building Design

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join an established engineering practice that has built its reputation around high-performance, sustainable and technically ambitious building design. The firm has contributed to more than 100 LEED Platinum projects and, over the past decade, has worked on 10 projects recognized with the prestigious AIA COTE Top Ten Award, which recognizes leading examples of sustainable design, performance and environmental stewardship.

The Denver team is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who can combine strong technical expertise with project leadership, client management and mentorship. This person will have the opportunity to influence major projects, help shape design standards and develop the next generation of engineers while working alongside teams focused on energy efficiency, electrification, resilience and regenerative design.

The firm has also been recognized as a 2026 Best Company to Work in Engineering, reflecting its emphasis on collaboration, technical excellence and employee experience.

About the Firm

This is a multidisciplinary engineering and design firm focused on creating buildings that perform better for their owners, occupants and communities. Its work spans mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, building performance, technology and lighting design.

Sustainability is embedded into the firm's approach rather than treated as an additional service.

Current work includes Living Buildings, net-zero energy projects, all-electric buildings and LEED Platinum developments, with a focus on reducing both operational and embodied carbon.

The firm is a Certified B Corporation and has also earned the JUST 3.0 Label, reflecting its broader focus on environmental responsibility, transparency and employee impact. Its 2025 B Corp recertification saw its B Impact Score increase to 97.8.

The Role

  • Evaluate design options and clearly communicate recommendations to clients, architects and project stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Participate in project interviews, presentations and business development activities
  • Represent the firm with clients, industry partners and at professional events
  • Mentor, coach and develop junior and mid-level engineers
  • Support the development of electrical design standards, tools and internal processes
  • Contribute to improving technical quality and project delivery across the practice
  • Monitor project quality and ensure work meets established quality management standards
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, plumbing, lighting, technology and other disciplines
