Job summary

The Haskell Company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Distribution Design in Madison, WI. You will lead overhead and underground distribution projects, mentor a team, and ensure designs meet NEC, NESC, and client standards.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes safety, reliability, and project delivery across urban, rural, and industrial settings. Applicants should have a PE license, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and 8+ years of distribution design experience (OH/UG).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
8+ years of experience in electrical distribution design (OH/UG).
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience leading design teams and projects.
Knowledge of NESC, NEC, RUS, DOT, and client standards.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of OH/UG/URD distribution projects.
Develop construction work packages using industry tools (AutoCAD, DDS, GIS, SAP, MicroStation, etc.).
Perform engineering calculations (pole loading, voltage drop, conductor sizing, etc.).
Mentor engineers, designers, and CAD technicians to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
Coordinate with PMs and stakeholders to manage scope, schedule, and budget.
Conduct QA/QC reviews of packages and provide guidance to peers.
