Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) seeks a Senior Electrical Designer (SmartPlant) in Ogden, UT to prepare electrical system designs for DoD and USAF projects. The candidate will model electrical rooms, generate drawings, and develop materials in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.

Requirements include US citizenship, ability to obtain a DOE badge, strong NEC/NEMA/IEEE knowledge, and hands-on SmartPlant 3D, SmartSketch, and AutoCAD experience.

Qualifications

• Requires AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 10-12 years of experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
• Must be a United States citizen and able to pass drug screen and background check.
• Knowledge of NEC code and NEMA/ANSI/IEEE Standards; DoD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supporting, coaching, and training less experienced designers.
• Modeling of electrical rooms, equipment, cable tray, conduit, duct bank, lighting, receptacles in a SmartPlant 3D model environment.
• Creating BOMs and drawing installation details using SmartSketch and AutoCAD.
• Performing calculations for lighting layouts and grounding grids.
• Coordinate with Systems engineering to verify design requirements and ensure compliance.
