Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Senior Designer - Electrical in Spokane, WA. The role leads the engineering of spaces and built environments to support a life sciences community, guiding design, energy efficiency, and high-performance outcomes.

You will manage design teams, coordinate across disciplines, and drive energy-efficient design strategies while balancing project objectives and owner satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in mechanical design, engineering or related field with focus on high-performance buildings.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• P.E. registration is required.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience in energy model results analysis.
• Experience managing a design team preferred.
• LEED AP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering for spaces and built environments.
• Coordinate with design teams across electrical, structural, architectural, and energy disciplines.
• Oversee staffing to meet design schedules and project milestones.
• Mentor, train and evaluate design and engineering staff.
