Job summary

Hargrove in Meraux, LA is seeking an experienced E&I Designer to perform complete electrical/instrumentation design tasks for industrial projects. You will develop installation details, MCC single lines, cable schedules and related drawings under supervision.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in electrical/instrumentation drafting, an associate degree, and proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and MicroStation; 3D AutoCAD is a plus, with strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Familiarity with NEC and electrical design standards.
Ability to perform lighting level calculations.
Size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for lighting and power.
Perform voltage drop calculations.
Route conduit and cable tray.
Calculate tray and conduit fill.
Determine MCC loading.
Interpret vendor equipment drawings and specs.
Understand load center/substation loading.
Know workflow between disciplines and project schedules.
Estimate completion of assigned tasks.
Follow CAD drafting standards.
Proficient with Word/Excel/Outlook.
2D AutoCAD and MicroStation proficiency; 3D AutoCAD desirable.

Responsibilities

Produce installation details, MCC single lines, wire/cable schedules, and grounding layouts under supervision.
Create electrical installation documents from vendor drawings.
Assist in on-site startup support and design changes promptly.
Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to meet project milestones.
Ensure compliance with NEC and company drafting standards.
