Job summary

Tektronix, a Ralliant subsidiary, seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead architecture, design, validation, and delivery of advanced PCB-based hardware. You will mentor engineers across disciplines and collaborate with systems, FPGA, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver cutting-edge instruments.

The role emphasizes high-speed analog/digital and RF design, timing circuits, and rigorous engineering practices, guiding products from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience designing complex electronic hardware systems with production release.
• Deep expertise in high-speed, analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuit design.
• Strong PCB design, signal integrity, power integrity, analog design, and hardware bring-up/debug.
• Experience with RF, timebase, precision timing, or frequency-sensitive circuits.
• Knowledge of transmission line theory, impedance control, noise analysis, and precision measurement systems.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, DDR, PCIe, or similar high-speed interfaces.
• Proficiency with lab characterization and debug techniques using scopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, etc.
• Scripting in Python or MATLAB; ability to automate tests and analyses.
• Proven leadership to mentor engineers and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Ability to balance technical, schedule, and business priorities in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, implementation, and validation of complex PCB-based hardware systems.
• Provide technical leadership and establish engineering best practices across the team.
• Lead system-level electrical architecture for next-gen instrumentation platforms.
• Design high-speed, analog, mixed-signal, RF, and digital circuits with SI/PI focus.
• Develop RF, timebase, and precision timing circuitry with low jitter.
• Troubleshoot through root-cause analysis and structured debugging.
• Drive hardware architecture tradeoffs across performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with systems, FPGA, software, mechanical, and test teams to deliver products.
• Lead design reviews, architecture reviews, and DFx activities.
