Job summary

MG Engineering D.P.C. is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to provide technical leadership and design oversight for complex building and infrastructure projects from its New York City headquarters.

The ideal candidate will lead sophisticated building-systems designs, mentor engineers, and collaborate with architects, owners, contractors, utilities, and public agencies to deliver projects from planning through closeout, with strong focus on NYC codes and power distribution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
Eight or more years of progressively responsible electrical engineering experience.
Substantial experience designing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, residential, healthcare, educational, hospitality, or institutional buildings.
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical engineering calculation tools.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical engineering design of new construction, renovation, infrastructure, and building-upgrade projects.
Establish project design criteria, system concepts, technical approaches, and engineering standards.
Direct preparation of electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, studies, narratives, and construction documents.
Coordinate electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm coordination, and utility services.
Lead multidisciplinary coordination with architectural, mechanical, and other disciplines.
